Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident, were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt's fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds. IMDB- 7.9/10 Rotten Tomatoes- 77% Metacritic- 66% My Review- So I am big Harry Potter fan, I'v read all the books and seen all the movies. So when this one came out I had to see it. I really liked this movie it gives more insight to the Harry Potter universe. It's story is completely new not based off any books. This movie does answer a lot of questions that the fans had, but I really wasn't too excited about it. it was alright the scenes flowed, the plot was good. Eddie Redmayne was really good in the movie. I'm going to wait till the second movie to see if it has that same Harry Potter magic. My Rating- Good

Release Date- 11/4/2016 Directed by- Scott Derrickson Written by-Jon Spaihts, Scott Derrickson, C. Robert Cargill Cast- Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel Mcadams, Benedict Wong, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton. Summary-Dr. Stephen Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave. He quickly learns that the enclave is at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange is forced to choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence. IMDB- 7.9/10 Rotten Tomatos-90% My review- I loved the movie Cumberbatch does an amazing job as Steven strange, the cast is amazing in there roles. lets talk about Doctor strange for a bit, he is a very powerful sorcerer in the marvel world. It's hard to understand his story line but with the introduction the Doctor Strange comes some pretty amazing stuff. I really thought it was going to be difficult for marvel to do this movie because all of the mystical things in the comics have been explained with science and magic being one in the same. but the movie is chalk brim with scientific loving. which kind of takes the mysticism away from him a lot. but over all the film had amazing scenes, the effects were amazing the movie flowed together well, the plot could have used some tweaks. but there was a formula in this film that I have been noticing with every re-watch of the movies and I'm really not liking that. The film in my opinion was also too short compare to there other films which run the 2 hour mark. The film was enjoyable, I really loved seeing one of my favorite marvel characters finally on the big screen, not going to lie I cried a little inside. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Doctor Strange in the future. My Rating- Awesome 11/28/2016 0 Comments The PaperThis one is an oldie but I just happen to watch this for a class of mine.
The Paper (1994) Release Date- 3/25/1994 Starring Michael Keaton, Glenn Close, Marisa Tomel, Randy Quaid, And Robert Duvall Director- Ron Howard Written by- David Koepp, Stephen Koepp. Henry Hackett (Michael Keaton) is an editor at the New York Sun, a tabloid paper facing financial cuts. His pregnant wife, Martha (Marisa Tomei), pleads with him to get a more respectable job so he can spend more time with his family. Hackett is considering an offer from another paper, with fewer hours and higher pay, when he gets his hottest story in years. When this scoop leads to a burst of violence and a conflict with his new boss, Alicia (Glenn Close), he faces a startling moment of truth. IMDB- 6.6/10 Rotten tomatoes-88% Spoilers if you haven't seen the movie ( I can't believe that I have to say that for this movie) The movie starts off with two black youths who walk into a crime scene and are mistaking for the shooters. Then next scene starts off with a close-up of a clock which sets the tone of the whole movie. The shift is to our two characters a husband and wife, who happen to both be journalists. Henry Hackett (Michael Keaton) editor of a tabloid in New York City called The Sun (Daily News). Henry feels frustrated with his life and job; he’s tired of having fluff pieces on the front page. Henry tends to sabotage himself, especially when he went on an interview for The Sentinel, and steals the editorial off of the editor’s desk. The whole movie is him trying to get this story, trying to get quotes and the truth behind why those men were murdered. The film features the colorful character tropes of the loving wife (Marisa Tomei) who want more from life, but because she is too much in love with her career, she is afraid that them having children and her regretting it. The Boss Glenn Close who cares about nothing but brown nosing the rich men and women of the city who will further her career. She is reminded at the end that she has lost sight of the person she uses to be and changes. The paranoid yet comic relief of the film Randy Quaid who happens to be the voice of reason and logic in this crazy film. Everything in this film is like being on caffeine; the film never sits still if there isn’t one thing there’s another. The film does give an insight into the world of journalism. Always on the move trying to get the next big story, dealing with big wigs as well as trying not to compromise your integrity. Ron Howard did an excellent job trying to create that atmosphere within the film. Not only were the characters in a crunch for time us as the views felt like we were in a crunch for a time like we need to get this story done before the deadline. Howard’s fast-paced camera work left us wanting to know more, the editing flowed well and helped move the plot along. The interactions with the characters are fun but are also heartwarming. We feel Henry’s frustration at the fact that he wants this story before anyone else, that he can’t just relax that he has to be on the move. I enjoyed this film the cast are well rounded; the writing is good at some points it drags but is entertaining the rest of the time. The character is over the top and are imperfect giving them a sense of realism. The shots flow very well like organized chaos. Howard does a good job bring this story to life. My rating- Good 11/2/2016 0 Comments Boo a Medea's HalloweenTyler Perry's Boo a Media Halloween

Other critics- 4.7/10 IMDB, 23% Rotten Tomatos, 30% Metacritic ME-Saturday 10/29 I watched Tyler Perry's Boo a Medea Halloween, I went thinking the movie was going to be bad, like really bad. But I have to say it wasn't crap, the film was funny at times. There were a lot of parts that were not really funny, but the movie did make up for those moments. The only thing I didn't like was the forced PSA at the end. Over all the film was good, the soundtrack was okay. The sound design was on point, the camera work was good but shaky at times which made it hard to pay attention. I would recommend it to a friend but to wait till it comes out for TV. My Rating- Meh |
